Max Norris
Fitness Coach
Max Norris graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a B.S. in biomedical engineering. He later earned a Master of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Kentucky, with a specialization in exercise physiology. Max is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Max has a personal interest in strength training, hypertrophy development, and emphasizing training that will facilitate daily functionality.

Max first developed an interest in the health and fitness field after years of varsity wrestling in high school and seeking to stay fit as he entered college. His passion, however, stemmed from the misinformation and lack of accountability that plagues the health and fitness industry. Max seeks to combat this misinformation and help people along their fitness journey by continuing his education, obtaining professional certifications, staying up to date on current scientific literature, and acquiring personal training experience. In addition, Max is serious about his own training and overall health, wanting to lead clients by example.

Max is eager and motivated to train anyone wanting to improve their overall health while educating his clients throughout their fitness journey. Max strives to help each client feel as though they are doing more walking into a gym and completing a “chore”. Instead, Max wants each client to enjoy their training experience, feel they are progressing towards their overall health goals, and feel they are developing the skills they will need to ultimately have a healthy lifestyle.

Kate Lukens
Fitness Coach
Kate Lukens will graduate from Penn State in May 2025 with a B.S. in Biobehavioral Health. Kate is certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a Personal Trainer and a Women’s Fitness Specialist.
Kate’s passion for fitness began when she realized that just because competitive sports weren’t for her, that didn’t mean she couldn’t be athletic. Because of that, she wants to help others that feel lost in their fitness journey find what works for them, and make information relating to fitness more accessible. In addition, through her time as President of PSU Girl Gains at Penn State — an all girls lifting club — she also gained a passion for helping women in their gender specific issues. This also gave Kate an appreciation of the importance of customizing training plans for diverse bodies.
Kate is excited to train with clients that want to take this step in their fitness journey, and prioritizes creating an empathetic non-judgmental space to help clients succeed.
